Stormzy

Stormzy, or Michael Omari, is one of my favorite artists, and holds two of my all-time favorite songs, so I definitely heard of him before. His songs have a big range of themes, but some of the prominent and recurring ones are the struggles black people face in society today, celebrating the black youth of Britain, drug use, gang violence, Christianity, and addressing political problems. Stormzy calls himself a “political analyst” because he is doing exactly that, analyzing politics and addressing problems, shining a light on them and making people talk about and discuss them. Some examples of things he has addressed in his songs are knife crimes and racism. He also called out Theresa May over Grenfell, a horrible fire in a building that killed 72 People.
